In this pic, the guy is focused only on the job at hand, or his weapon. Which I'm guessing is directly plot related.
The girl is checking her nails, which shows that she cares about more than just the weapon/job.
To get a more accurate result, see if you can have them doing similar/same poses. Have them doing a few things, like sitting on a chair, guys and gals do it differently. Same with walking, jumping, etc.
Find out which one you prefer drawing, and then figure out how that will work into your story and if it will change things too much. Remember, guys and gals react to the same things very differently.
